Aliki Romano graduated from UCT as a teacher in 1981 and has taught art to children and adults for 25 years in schools and colleges in Cape Town, London and Amsterdam.
Aliki is also an experienced trauma and bereavement counselor
who uses art to facilitate the counseling process.
Aliki established The Art Well in 2000 to manifest her dream of establishing a safe and inspiring studio where art can nourish the soul and serve as a therapeutic tool. Her teaching practice is grounded in Astar principles and incorporates music, meditation, movement, sounding,
visualization and journaling to enrich the creative experience.
Aliki also trains groups to teach creative art. At present she is training
a group of 12 ECD preschool teachers in Mfuleni, Cape Town
